Although this method has been around for the best part of 140 years, this much misunderstood application of paint and media offers you and youngsters massive rewards. As an individual, you would gain enormous satisfaction in what you can achieve with one of these tools (an airbrush) and be able to use it in a wide variety of applications.

Learn to Airbrush is fronted by Fred Crellin, a qualified teacher of Art and Design (PGCE) with over 20 years airbrushing experience. In the last 10 years he has single-handedly paved the way for airbrushing to become a more acceptable method of painting in schools, colleges and clubs around the country. He wrote and has delivered the only stand alone national certificate in the subject in the country. The OCN (Open College Network) certificate course has been running a programme of study (60 hours) since 2002. This course has a level 2 banding with weight of 6 credits (equivalent to a GCSE C grade). It is way ahead of its time in what would be classed and vaunted as a ‘vocational’ qualification.

Learn to Airbrush Ltd was set up in 2009 as a non-profit making organisation designed to get airbrushing into schools and colleges on a national scale. The intention primarily was to help such establishments gain sources of funding (Creative Partnerships, Arts Council, Local Government etc) more easily. It is Fred’s passion to have airbrushing as an accepted method of painting as painting with a brush or pallet knife. Educating our younger generation into understanding this method and having an automatic acceptance of the genre, whilst giving them the greatest reward of personal satisfaction by achieving something special, seems a logical step.
